![]() ![]() Sorry for the long post, just wanted to make sure I shared as much as possible in order to make an informed decision. One thing that is important to me is the ability to turn the TV on through my Smartthings hub or Amazon Alexa. There is a ceiling fan above the couch with lights that might be on at the same time the TV is on (I could change that and install canned lights in the ceiling, though). I will likely never watch a movie during the daytime so that’s not a huge deal to me. The Fry’s rep was pushing the Samsung line and said the LG was the best with Samsung being a close second and the Sony was the worst. The Best Buy rep was pushing the Sony line, specifically the Z9F (even over the A9F) and not too keen on the Samsung and mentioned that LG was not very good anymore and had been passed by Sony. ![]() I left Best Buy thinking I would get a Sony and just chalk it up to getting a lemon. I had my eye on the Sony OLED when I bought the 930D but didn’t want to spend that kind of money at the time so I got the 930D and loved it, like I said. The TV just did not look good at all while the 3 Sonys I mentioned above looked great. I went in wanting to look at the Q9 and was extremely underwhelmed after seeing the demo they had. I don’t really want to spend that kind of money to fix a 3 year old TV.īeing that this TV only lasted 2 years, I was sort of against buying another Sony.until I walked into Best Buy this afternoon and saw the current lineup. Fixing it could cost anywhere from $400 - $800 according to Sony, depending on whether the panel has to be replaced or the main board. ![]() This past Sunday a horizontal line showed up on the TV and after troubleshooting and a call to Sony, they confirmed a hardware failure. I have a Sony XBR55930D that I got 2 years ago and have loved for every day of the past 2 years. 65” Sony Z9F vs 55” Sony A9F vs 65” Sony X900F vs 65” Samsung Q9FN ![]()
